Mountain Mentorship
An industry-first education and mentorship program, aiming at building confidence and competency in developing riders.
What to expect in the Mountain Mentorship Program:
This course is built around a progression of skills delivered over 5 field days, spread throughout the entire season, from December to April. In addition to the five field days, online learning seminars covering the core skills in this program. Additional self-study resources and one-on-one mentorship and feedback are provided as well.
The core training elements covered in the program are Avalanche Safety, Terrain Management, Decision Making, Rescue and Survival, and Navigation and Movement Skills. Each field day will contain components of each element, and each day will build on previous training and principles covered in the course thus far.
Class sizes will be small, with a maximum 4-1 Student-Instructor ratio. Course cost covers all training and materials required. Students are expected to supply a mountain sled, 3-antenna transceiver, avalanche probe, shovel, and a FRS or BCA style radio, as well as clothing and supplies for long days of backcountry travel.
